Valkarie

This was acually a very good movie. most people wouldnt think so because there wasnt enough fighting but i thought it was interesting how they planned to overthrow Hitler. It was literally like there was a shield around Hitler. there were so many attempts to kill him and he still lived! i think they said 15 or 16 attempts? how is that possible!? frustating how close they got but still, a good movie.

the field trip

We went to the Holocaust museum. it was really awesome and WORTH THE MONEY even though it really wasnt that expensive. i really liked the hall of rememberance because it looked really cared for and sentimental. the room was super tall and had the names of all accounted for people that died in the Holocaust. also the speaker (survivor) had a great story, very ground breaking. i learned alot deffinatly best field trip of the year.

my thoughts on Nazi Eugenics

i think this was crazy. they pulled the randomest ideas out of nowhere and tested it on mentally challenged and Jewish people. this is sick and disgusting. they were just trying to think of different ways to to torture the innocent in my mind. i think they only way they made it possible was by saying it was "research".

russian invasion

The nazis had this one in the bad! they would have completed the mission had hilter been less careless. if the won this battle they would have gone to moscow, then they could have had all the oil. this would have brought there airforce back where they would have taken over britian. they mite have won the war had they won this battle.

Germany vs Russia

When Germany attacked Russia i thought for sure they were going to win but somehow Hitler managed to mess that up! they had a huge head start completely obliterating Russia's territory, then the supplies got over reached and that ruined them. it seems like the downfall to most of these big battles are the leaders not listening to their military advisors. GET IN CHECK HITLER.

in regards to the Guadalcanal

can either side claim moral superiority? no, starting with the japs, for one the japs decapitated soldiers leaving bloody messing all over. thats disgusting and defiantly forfeits any attempt for neutral karma. as for us soldiers, we defiantly couldn't either because we were having fun with that one jap officer by shooting at him and making him run around. it was almost torture.

the guadalcanal

I think its interesting the tactics used in the first battle we saw. its similar to WW1 in the fact that theres two sides shooting at each other. in this case the river was "no mans land" and from what i saw tradition hadn't changed, when people tried to cross to flank they were gunned down. then i saw the mortar shots. attrition anybody?

Japanese interment camps

do i think these were fair? no, i honestly don't. the reason we had these was because we suspected spies among us from japan. This is a ridiculous assumption. i think it just being racist. we can compare this to 9/11. The bombers of the world trade center just happened to be Arab so now everyone assumes every Arab is a terrorist. I don't think locking them away in the middle of nowhere was very fair. especially because maybe a handful of them were actually spies, the rest being civilians.

Rise of the Japs

I think that the reason the japs came into huge power was because of america itself. we opened up ports in japan and industrialized them, creating weapons. This will pose a very large threat because now, they went from Samaria swords to Japanese commandos. This will trigger the making of kamakazi planes which, simply put, are suicide bombers. we brought it on ourselves.

Armistice

This blog is about the Germans having to go all the way out into the forest to meet with Allie officials to sign the armistice. Although its good the wars ending the Germans are absolutely humiliated by having to sign it without negotiation. Then french paparazzi came and took a picture to spread around central Europe!

movie

we watched a movie today based on the allies trying to take out the u-boats bases. about 500,000 allies died and about 250,000 germans died. what ruined it for the allies was the intense rain fall. this stopped supplies and tanks. this also made it hard for allies to advance, making things worse the town was uphill. after the 10 day artillery fire the drainage system was completly blown out of wack, making more water fall towards the allies side. after efforts the base was taken at a cost.

why allies failed at beating turks

Watching the movie i saw one mistake that i thought was a big player in the reasons of losing. The plan was to drop bombs on enemy trenches and then rush them before they could get back to th trenches. they waited too long and the turks flooded back into the trenches with guns loaded before they ran. bottom line: they waited too long. Also they didn't even ordered to load their guns when rushing the trenches. They were instructed to unload their firearms. This was a terrible idea because they couldn't even shoot in an attempt to take someone down before they died.

What made ww1 global

The Navy played a big part in making th war global because it gave soldiers the chance to cross seas to conquer territories in Africa. The trading systems made it global because when a country goes to war their trading systems are effected. also when people expanded and fighting began in Africa the local people got involved and enlisted in the armies.

christmas truce

even though i didnt see the movie, the idea of truce for a day to remember christ jesus is amazing. I think its outrageous that the priest and soilders got in trouble for it! It was truly amazing that people that were supposed to kill each other, came together to celebrate a holiday, then go back to killing each other. crazy stuff man.

why world war 1 started

A-H started threatening Serbia so Serbia was like "oh ya really? well awww ya i got Russia!" and Russia was made allies with Serbia. Then A-H thought "oh, i better get some friends then" so Germany joined A-H. then Great Britain joined Serbia and etc. After alliances were made everybody mobilized and FRANCE started making battle plans to attack Germany. So Germany was all like "oh i see how it is!" and they made battle plans to totally own France. And thats how it started. In my opinion.

Keiser and Bismark

we watched a video on kaiser and how the first thing he did was get rid of Bismark which i think was a bad move on his part. Bismark was the only thing holding the united countries together. without him they will quickly fall apart and Prussia will be surrounded, which is exactly what keiser didn't want.

world wars

WHAT CREATES A WORLD WAR:
I believe a world war can be started over many things including oil, money, territory etc. World War 1 was started over the assassination of Ferdinan. It needs more than one allie for both saides and it would take alot of money from the countries invovled.
WHAT WOULD CREATE ONE TODAY:
Today things are much more complicated. it can start just from politics. For us to enter a world war it would probrably take nuclear threats, the invasion of Isreal, or another 911. I think it would take more than either WW1 or WW2 because since we've expierienced them, we're smarter and know possible outcomes.
